Requirements for starting a club
How great that you are interested in starting a new club under NTK!
NTK sets certain requirements for a club to exist under the union. You can find these rules in our statutes. Each club must:
- Follow NTK’s statutes and regulations
- Elect a chairman
- Report the elected chairman to the union board.
Beyond that, there is very free rein.
Support from NTK
Now that you know what we expect from you, here’s what you can use us for:
- We help you reach out to potential members through our social media channels.
- You can request money from us to purchase materials or anything else your club may need.
- As clubs, you have the right to book facilities on campus.
Application - how to become part of NTK
To be accepted as a club, you need to submit a motion to the general council (FUM). Below is a sample motion that can be used as support in the process.
[LINK – coming soon]It is good to include in the motion:
- What is the name of the club?
- What is the purpose, what will you do?
- Which group is your target audience? Only NTK members or across unions?
- How many are you currently? Are you a newly started group or have you existed before?
In the motion template, you also indicate under which paragraphs of the regulations the motion should be placed (marked with “?” in the template). This can be a bit difficult to find, if you need help, you are most welcome to contact our event manager.
Treatment of the motion
Your motion will be considered at the next general council meeting (FUM), which is the highest decision-making body of the union. FUM meets once a month, so please note that the processing time can be up to a few weeks.
FUM would like the motion to be submitted in conjunction with regular documents (dates can be found HERE). This allows any potential questions or additions to be handled before supplementary documents are sent out, which increases the chance that the motion can be considered at the current meeting.
It is not a requirement, but FUM appreciates if a representative from the club attends the meeting and presents the motion.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions!
