Sections
What is a section?
A section is an association of NTK members based on education. Sections have their own board and governing documents, and organise their own fun events and activities. The sections have general meetings where members decide what the section will work on and elect students to various councils and groups. When you become a member of NTK, you automatically become a member of the section to which your programme or independent courses belong.
Below you can see which sections are under NTK.
CS section
The CS section consists of students studying:
- Bachelor of Science programme in Computing Science
- Master programmes in Computing Science and AI
- Master of Science programmes in Computing Science and Engineering and Interaction Technology and Design
- Independent students at the Department of Computer Science.

Design section
The design section consists of students on:
- All programmes and independent courses at the School of Design.
- All programmes and independent courses at the School of Architecture.

F section
The F section consists of students studying:
- Master of Science programmes in Engineering Physics, Energy Engineering as well as Engineering, Common Entrance
- Foundation Course in Technical and Nature Science
- Master’s programme in Physics
- Independent students at the Department of Physics

I section
The I section consists of students studying:
- Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management
- Bachelor of Science programme in Mathematics
- Independent students at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.

InSekt – Engineering section
The Engineering section, InSekt, consists of students studying:
- Masters programme in Robotics and Control
- Bachelor of Science in “Civil Engineering”, in “Electronic and Computer Engineering”, in “Energy Engineering”, in “Mechanical Engineering”, and in “Electrical Power Engineering”
- Independent students at the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics.

The MEGA Section
The section MEGA consists of students studying:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology and Earthscience and in Environmental Science
- Masters programme in Environmental science
- Masters programme in Ecology and in Geoecology
- Independent students at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science
Sigma section
The Sigma section consists of students studying:
- Master of Science programmes in Biotechnology, and in Engineering Chemistry
- Study programme in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science and Master of Science in Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Science programme in Life Science
- Master’s Programme in Pharmaceutical Science, in Molecular Biology, in Chemistry, and in Plant and Forest Biotechnology
- Independent students in the above-mentioned fields
