What is a section?
A section is an association of NTK members based on education. Each section has its own board and regulatory documents. The section board hold section board meetings and general meetings. At general meetings all members of the section attend and make decisions about what the section should do. A new section board is chosen every year.
Below all sections within NTK are listed.

CS section
The CS section consists of students studying:
- Bachelor of Science Programme in Computing Science
- Master’s Programme in Computing Science
- Master of Science Programme in “Computing Science and Engineering” and “Interaction Technology and Design”
- courses at the Department of Computing Science

Design section
The Design section consists of students studying:
- Bachelor Programme in Industrial Design
- Master’s Programme in “Interaction Design”, “Transportation Design”, “Advanced Product Design”, and “Architecture and Urban Design”
- Architecture Programme
- a program or courses at the Umeå School of Architecture and at the Umeå Institute of Design.

F section
The F section consists of students studying:
- Master of Science Programme in “Engineering Physics” and in “Energy Engineering” as well as “Engineering, Common Entrance”
- Foundation Course in Technical and Nature Science
- Bachelor of Science in “Physics” and in “Physics and Applied Mathematics”
- Master’s Programme in “Physics” and “Computational Science and Engineering”
- courses at the Department of Physics

InSekt – Engineering section
The Engineering section, InSekt, consists of students studying:
- University Programme in “Computer Networks and Communication Technology” and in “Media”
- Master’s Programme in Robotics and Control
- Bachelor of Science in “Civil Engineering”, in “Electronic and Computer Engineering”, in “Energy Engineering”, in “Mechanical Engineering”, and in “Electrical Power Engineering”
- courses at the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics
- Foundation Course in Technical and Nature Science

Section MEGA
The section MEGA consists of students studying:
- Bachelor of Science in “Biology and Earthscience” and in “Environmental Health”
- University Programme in Nature Guiding
- Master’s Programme in Environmental Health
- Master’s Programme in “Ecology” and in “Geoecology”,
- courses at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science
- Foundation Course in Technical and Nature Science

Sigma section
The Sigma section consists of students studying:
- Master of Science Programme in “Biotechnology”, in “Bioresource Engineering”, and in “Engineering Chemistry”
- “Study Programme in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science” and “Master of Science in Pharmacy”
- Bachelor of Science Programme in Life Science
- Master’s Programme in “Pharmaceutical Science”, in “Molecular Biology”, in “Chemistry”, and in “Plant and Forest Biotechnology”
- University Diploma Programme for Process Operators
- students studying courses in above mentioned areas

PhD – Postgraduate section
The Postgraduate section consists of:
- All graduates at the Faculty of Science and Technology
